Bio-hybrid materials & catalysts

Beyond wastewater treatment, our lab harnesses microbes to create eco-friendly catalysts and graphene composites. One patented method uses exoelectrogenic bacteria to accumulate metal ions, then pyrolyzes them into single-atom or nano-alloy catalysts - offering a cost-effective alternative for fuel cells and pollutant degradation. Another approach employs bacteria to reduce graphene oxide into conductive graphene for advanced electrodes or membranes.
